Château Philippe le Hardi - “At the heart of the Santenay fiefdom“ tour
Presentation
Having witnessed 2000 years of winemaking history in Burgundy, Château Philippe le Hardi is a legendary building, once owned by Philippe le Hardi (Philip the Bold, 1342-1404), Duke of Burgundy.
This grand Burgundy estate now boasts 98 hectares of vineyards in prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.
Nearly 100 parcels, producing some fifty different wines, are vinified in the estate's cellars, offering a remarkable diversity of wines.
Since 2004, the estate has been certified Terra Vitis and, since 2015, High Environmental Value (HEV). In 2021, the estate began its conversion to organic.
Every visit to our Santenay estate and every tasting of our wines is an intense, vibrant experience.
The "At the Heart of the Santenay fiefdom" tour lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours. The tour covers the Château's thousand-year history, followed by explanations of the winemaking and ageing processes within the cellars and winery of the 98-hectare estate.
The tour concludes with a "naturally bold" tasting of five of the estate's iconic wines: two white and three red, including at least one Premier Cru, from the three wine-growing regions of Burgundy.
