 Built in the 12th century by the monks of Cîteaux Abbey, out in the vineyards in the heart of the Route des Grands Crus, Château du Clos de Vougeot today welcomes lovers of history, architecture and wine.

An exceptional historic monument, Château du Clos de Vougeot is the headquarters of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin (Brotherhood of the Knights of the Tastevin).

Self-tour thanks to touch-screens displays or guided tour (departures at 10.30 am, 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm) including a movie about the activities of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and sometimes a temporary exhibition.

Last tour starts 1 hour before closing for independent tours (arrive 1 hour 15 minutes before for a full guided tour). Please note: tours may be shortened or limited where required to allow a reception to take place in the château.

Last departure 1 hour before closing for unaccompanied visits.

- From April to October: GUIDED TOURS start at

  • 10.30am, 2.30pm and 4.30pm in French
  • 11.30am and 3.30pm in English

Opening periods and times:
- From April to October (high season):
Monday to Friday + Sunday : from 9.30am to 6.00pm, ticket office closes at 5.15pm

Saturday :  9.30am to 5.00pm, ticket office closes at 4.15pm
- From November to March (in low season): Monday to Sunday from 10.00am to 5.00pm, ticket office closes at 4.15pm
Closed on 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January.
