Presentation

Historical presentation of Château de la Crée, founded in 1431 by Nicolas Rolin (Chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy) and the cultural richness of the village of Santenay (Gallo-Roman ruins, monasteries, Montagne des Trois Croix, etc.).
We then visit our 1.5-hectare vineyard in Santenay - Clos du Château, planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
We’ll discuss the Burgundy classification and importance of the “Terroir” through a reading of the landscape.
We’ll cover the specifics of the Santenay appellation and Château de la Crée, along with vineyard management in general.
Then it’s time to head down into our 15th-century vaulted cellars, where we’ll discuss the specifics of ageing and look at the “terroir” through our soil recompositions. You can then discover the richness of Burgundy for yourself.
Then, in the privacy of our cellar or outside in the château grounds, you can sample 6 wines from the estate during a guided, interactive tasting.
