Château de la Crée - The “Climats” experience & picnic
Presentation
Historical presentation of Château de la Crée, founded in 1431 by Nicolas Rolin (Chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy) and the cultural richness of the village of Santenay (Gallo-Roman remains, Monasteries, Mountain of the Three Crosses...).
We’ll then go into our vineyards in Santenay - Clos du Château covering 1.5 hectares, planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
We’ll talk together about the Burgundy classification and the importance of the Terroir through a landscape reading.
We’ll discuss the specifics of the Santenay appellation, Château de la Crée, not forgetting the management of the vineyards.
Then it’s time to go down to our 15th-century vaulted cellars, where we cover the specifics of maturation and understanding the “terroir” thanks to our soil recompositions. This lets you discover the richness of Burgundy.
You can then, within the intimacy of our cellar or outside in the château’s grounds, enjoy 6 wines from the estate during a commented, interactive tasting, accompanied by three cold snacks.
Château de la Crée picnic:
Before or after your experience, in the heart of nature, enjoy the space and tranquillity of the château’s park.
A moment of relaxation enjoyed together with family or friends awaits you.
You’ll find in your basket items purchased from the market (cold dish), a cheese, a dessert, as well as a bottle of water (33cl):
Your picnic is made from fresh, seasonal, local products.
A selection of wines will be offered for sale to further enhance your meal.
A junior picnic, up to 12 years old, is also available (must be booked separately, contact us)
Opening times and dates:
Experience available 7 days a week from 1 May to 30 September 2022
Tours start:
From 1 May to 30 September: every day: 10.00am – 12.30pm
Experience lasts: 1hr30 + picnic (before or after the experience, depending on the chosen times)
